
Canapés with tongue

Perfect for the table and with drinks. These tongue canapés made at home are truly worth preparing—simple, delicious, and beautiful! So here is my simple tongue canapé recipe; try to surprise your guests. Can be served warm or chilled.

1. Cut the bread or baguette into pieces, lightly toast in a dry skillet or dry out in the oven. Rub with garlic and cut out circles using a shot glass.

2. I additionally rub the already boiled tongue with spices and dry it in the oven as well.

3. Now, while the tongue cools, let’s make the sauce. Puree the cranberries in a blender with spices to your taste. I often don’t add anything at all—and it still turns out delicious.

4. Clean the cooled tongue of any excess spices if needed, and slice it into very thin slices. The quantity should match the bread rounds. Place a piece of tongue on each crouton and spread cranberry sauce on top. Done!
