Canapés with Cheese and Sausage
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. Toast the bread in a toaster or in the oven. Place the toasts on parchment paper on a baking sheet and put them in an oven preheated to 180°C for a few minutes. Then cut the ham into thin strips and the cheese into even cubes. Wrap the cheese cubes with a "ribbon" of ham and attach them to the bread. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.
Instructions

Step 1

What you absolutely need for cheese and sausage canapés are toothpicks (or wooden cocktail picks), a thick piece of firm cheese without holes, and at least one type of sausage (either pre-sliced from the store, or you must be able to slice it yourself into thin, evenly thick slices).
- 2
Step 2

Cut the cheese into cubes (approximately 1.5 x 1.5 cm).
- 3
Step 3

Cut the sausage slices into narrow (0.5–0.7 cm) spirals. It’s easier to do this by rotating the board rather than trying to trace the spiral with the tip of the knife.
- 4
Step 4

Toast bread in a toaster.
- 5
Step 5

Cut off the crusts from the bread and cut into squares slightly larger than the cheese cubes. I got 9 squares from 1 slice of toast, so for 18 canapés you need 2 slices of bread.
- 6
Step 6

Keep in mind that to "tie" a bow from sausage around one cheese cube, you need a strip of sausage 17–20 cm long.
- 7
Step 7

Wrap a strip of sausage around the cheese to mimic a bow, and secure with a wooden skewer or toothpick. For canapés made with bread, the pointed end of the toothpick should protrude from the bottom.
- 8
Step 8

Pin the cheese-and-sausage canapés onto a bread base.
- 9
Step 9

Canapés are ready!
