Puff Pastry Canapés with Caviar
Description
The recipe won't take much time. For making canapés, it's best to use yeast-free puff pastry. It yields better results. You can prepare them in advance, but they should be stored under a towel so they don't dry out. Before serving, don't chill the appetizer; the caviar, however, should be placed on the canapés chilled. Serve with herbs and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Transfer the pre-thawed dough to a work surface. You will need 2 sheets of dough, so if yours comes in a roll, divide it into two parts. Take one part and roll it out in one direction.
- 3
Step 3

Cut out the pieces with a round cutter (5 cm in diameter). I ended up with 18.
- 4
Step 4

Roll out the second sheet in one direction. Cut out the same round pieces, but then, using a smaller cutter, cut out the center. You should end up with a ring.
- 5
Step 5

Spray the baking sheet with water. Place the round portions on it. Pierce them with a fork in several places. Place ring-shaped portions on top and pierce them with a fork in several places as well.
- 6
Step 6

Brush each prepared piece with beaten egg. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for 20 minutes. Adjust for your oven’s characteristics.
- 7
Step 7

When the time is up, remove the prepared items from the oven. Let cool and transfer to a serving dish.
- 8
Step 8

Assemble the canapés. Spread a little butter on each base; a teaspoon works well for this. Next, add a heaping teaspoon of caviar. Finish with a small herb leaf.
- 9
Step 9

Place the caviar canapés on a platter and serve.
- 10
Step 10

Done. Serve with herbs.
