Canapés for a Buffet
Description
A tasty appetizer for any gathering. If you want to make delicious canapés for a buffet at home from the most ordinary ingredients, this recipe is for you. If you like, you can top this appetizer with a piece of smoked salmon, for example. This is a basic canapé option you can throw together in a hurry.
Instructions

Step 1

1. First, start with the bread. In this case, black bread is used; however, you can also use a French baguette or regular white bread. First, remove the crusts from the bread, then cut it into small squares. If time allows, you can put the bread in a preheated oven for 3–5 minutes, and the homemade buffet canapés will turn out crispy.

Step 2

2. You can use not only hard cheese but also soft cheese—for example, mozzarella. The denser the cheese, the easier it is to shape as needed. Cut it into pieces the same size as the bread. How can you make buffet canapés even more original? Use cookie cutters to cut out the bread and cheese.

Step 3

3. Wash and dry the fresh herbs (in this version only dill is used, but it can be any herbs you have on hand at home). Finely chop the dill and place it in the blender bowl. Add mayonnaise and blend briefly. You can do without the appliance, but then the sauce will not be quite smooth.

Step 4

4. Cut the processed cheese into small cubes. If desired, you can also add 1–2 cloves of garlic to the sauce.

Step 5

5. Add the processed cheese to the bowl with the mayonnaise and whisk until smooth and uniform. The processed cheese will give the dressing a thicker texture so it won’t run.

Step 6

6. As an optional ingredient, you can use olives and black olives. If you like, thread them onto the skewer with the canapé or serve them on the side, since not everyone enjoys this particular item.

Step 7

7. Everything is ready and you can assemble the canapés. Spread a small amount of sauce on a piece of bread and place cheese on top. If desired, repeat 2–3 times. Carefully pierce with a toothpick and serve at the table.
