Stewed Squid with Cabbage
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The main aspect in preparation is cleaning the squid. This process is easy if you know how to properly remove the unwanted parts. It's simple: grab the squid's head with the tentacles using your hand, then pull the head towards you while slightly holding the body. This way, the innards will come out. Serve hot.

Step 1

Above, I have already described how to clean squid. Carry out this procedure. Then remove the hard chitinous plate located inside the squid's body. The tentacles can be safely cut off with a knife right at the squid's eyes. Finally, peel off the thin membrane from the body—it's very easy to do. You can easily avoid this step by buying pre-cleaned squid.

Step 2

Cut the squid bodies into rings. You'll need a very sharp knife to slice the squid neatly and beautifully.

Step 3

Then take white cabbage. It is preferable to use young cabbage, as the dish will turn out more tender. Rinse it under water to remove dust and dirt. Slice it thinly.

Step 4

Place the cabbage and squid onto a greased skillet. Sauté over medium heat for 10 minutes. Then add one and a half cups of water, cover with a lid, and simmer for half an hour until done.
