
Grilled Squid by Jamie Oliver
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. This colorful seafood dish will not go unnoticed. It's easy to cook in just a few minutes on an electric grill, if you marinate the squid bodies in sauce or marinade beforehand. If desired, you can also grill them on a grate over charcoal when going outdoors. The finished dish can be served at the table.

Prepare the listed ingredients. Thaw the squid if you bought them frozen. If you purchased pre-cleaned white bodies, skip the cleaning step and scalding with boiling water.

Boil water in a kettle or saucepan, rinse the squid and place them in a deep container. Pour boiling water over them. When the boiling water comes into contact with the skin, the colored film will begin to peel off.

Rinse the squid bodies, scrape off any remaining skin, cut them in half, remove the cartilage (chorde) and rinse again. Place the squid into a deep container, pour in soy sauce, add salt, ground black and red pepper. Slice half a lemon into pieces and add to the container. Gently mix the contents with slight pressure. If time allows, let it marinate for 30–40 minutes.

Place the marinated squid on the preheated electric grill, remembering to grease the grill plates with oil beforehand. Sear until golden brown for about 3 minutes. At first, the flesh will release juice, then it will start to cook through.

Place the hot squid on a plate, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve. You can accompany them with various sauces and pickles, sour cream, or mustard.
