Cocoa semolina cake in glaze

60 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

This recipe won’t take much time. A fragrant chocolate cake with a soft glaze will please everyone. What’s more, the bake is made only from plant-based ingredients, so it fits perfectly into a fasting menu. It’s a great pairing with a cup of tea or coffee early in the morning, as well as a snack during the day. The cake is quite simple and doesn’t require special knowledge or culinary skills. You can make this semolina cake in the oven or in a multicooker. The sponge turns out soft and pleasantly moist, and the delicious chocolate glaze complements it perfectly. You can make a double batch of glaze so the layer is even thicker and the bake sweeter.

    Step 7

Transfer the prepared batter into an ovenproof dish. If you are using a silicone mold, there is no need to grease it. Bake the mannik in the oven at 180 degrees for about 45-50 minutes.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

Check whether the pie is done with a matchstick or a toothpick; when you pull it out, it should come out dry. Transfer the pie to a cooling rack and let it cool slightly.

    Step 9

    Step 9

While the pie cools, prepare the glaze. My version is dairy-free, but you can make any glaze you like. In a small saucepan, combine 2 tbsp cocoa, 3 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, and 3 tbsp water. Stirring over low heat, bring to a boil.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

While stirring constantly, simmer the glaze for about 1 minute. Then remove from the heat and let cool slightly. If the glaze is too thick, you can add another 1 tbsp of water during cooking.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

Pour the finished mannik with slightly cooled glaze. The cooler the pie, the faster the glaze will set.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

The glazed cocoa mannik is ready. If you like, you can sprinkle the mannik with chopped nuts or decorate it with confectionery sprinkles. Cut the cake into portions and serve.
