Zucchini baked with cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Use young zucchini for this dish, as they have a thin skin that's perfect for baking. Don't be afraid to get creative. For example, I added some fresh herbs and served it on a large plate with salad leaves. It's vegetable season, so you can place the dish on a bed of tomatoes or roasted potatoes, which will also serve as a side. Serve hot.

Step 1

1. Slice the medium zucchini into rings and pat it dry with a paper towel until completely dry.
- 2
Step 2

2. Do the same with the tomatoes. Try to make the number of zucchini slices and tomato slices equal.

Step 3

3. At this stage, you can experiment. I prepared mine like this: I placed the zucchini, then a tomato on top, and covered it with cheese. This way, I got separate "columns." In some cookbooks, authors suggest a different approach: you can lay the vegetables one after another (like ratatouille), spread mayonnaise on top, and cover with a "cap" of cheese. Other authors recommend a similar sequence, but before adding the cheese topping, they suggest pouring beaten eggs over everything. The classic recipe for baked zucchini with cheese looks exactly like this.

4. At the end, you can sprinkle the dish with herbs and add garlic, then place it in the oven for baking for another 5 minutes.

Step 5

5. If you don't like herbs and garlic, you can use only vegetables and cheese.
