Zucchini with cheese in the oven
Description
This year I had an unprecedented zucchini harvest, and I've made so many different things from them! I've preserved them, fried them, made creamy soups, and baked them in the oven. You can find many of my zucchini recipes on this website. Today, I'd like to share a recipe for baked zucchini with cheese. The zucchini turn out very tender, and thanks to the onion, wonderfully aromatic. The cheese enhances the flavor, giving the dish a taste reminiscent of an Italian casserole.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Peel and rinse the zucchini. Peel the onion.
- 2
Step 2

Slice the young zucchini into thin rounds. If your zucchini are large and stored for a while, it's better to peel them. Cut the onion into half-rings.
- 3
Step 3

Grate the hard cheese. Grease the baking dish with sunflower oil. Place zucchini slices on the bottom, then add onion on top. Sprinkle a layer of cheese.
- 4
Step 4

Repeat if necessary until the form is filled. Don't forget to lightly salt the zucchini layers. Put more cheese on the top layer to form a crust when baking.

Step 5

Bake the zucchini in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees. Serve the dish directly in the baking dish it was cooked in, or transfer it to a plate.
