Julienne with potatoes and mushrooms
Description
Of course, some might argue that this recipe for julienne with potatoes and mushrooms hardly resembles the original version of the dish. Perhaps that's true, but I still highly recommend you try this julienne, as it turns out truly delicious. The combination of potatoes and fragrant mushrooms, I believe, will appeal to everyone, and we'll pour over them a rich sauce and bake in the oven under a cheesy topping. Trust me, homemade julienne with potatoes and mushrooms turns out amazing, and your entire family will enjoy it—so don't be too quick to criticize this unusual little recipe.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First of all, you should sauté the mushrooms until cooked, but since I used frozen and pre-boiled mushrooms, I skipped this step. Next, we peel the boiled potatoes and cut them into small cubes.
- 2
Step 2

Peel the onion, chop it finely, and sauté in vegetable oil until translucent. Then mix the onion with the mushrooms.
- 3
Step 3

Place a clean, dry skillet on the stove and pour the flour onto it. Toast the flour until it turns slightly golden (1-2 minutes).
- 4
Step 4

After that, add the butter to the flour and, stirring the mixture vigorously, fry until the flour has absorbed all the butter.
- 5
Step 5

Without stopping stirring, pour a little hot water into the pan and bring the liquid to a boil. As a result, we should get a homogeneous mixture of medium thickness.
- 6
Step 6

When our sauce begins to simmer slightly, add the processed cheese and mix thoroughly.
- 7
Step 7

Season the sauce with salt, add spices, bring the mixture to a boil once again, then turn off the heat.
- 8
Step 8

When the sauce has cooled slightly, break two eggs into it and mix everything thoroughly once again until smooth.
- 9
Step 9

Now that we have all the ingredients ready, we can start layering them into the pots. First, place the potatoes at the bottom of each pot, then add the mushrooms with onions and minced garlic on top.
- 10
Step 10

Pour the prepared sauce over everything.
- 11
Step 11

On top of the sauce, generously sprinkle cheese grated on a coarse grater, then place the pots into a preheated oven at 180 degrees.
- 12
Step 12

After about 25-30 minutes, when the cheese has melted and formed an aromatic crust, the julienne can be taken out of the oven and served. Enjoy your meal!
