Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Thanks to its properties, blackcurrant jelly sets perfectly at home without cooking and without additional ingredients. Nothing but sugar is needed to preserve all the health benefits of the berries for the winter. This jelly can be used not only as a sweet addition to tea or baked goods, but also as a remedy during colds. The ready dessert can be served at the table.

Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 1

    1. First, berries should be covered with cold water and left for 10–15 minutes. Then drain in a colander to remove excess liquid, and remove stems. Berries should be carefully sorted to ensure no spoiled ones remain.

    Step 2

    2. The next step in the no-cook blackcurrant jelly recipe involves crushing the berries. You can do this in various ways—blend with a mixer, mash by hand, or use a potato masher. The main thing is to get the berries to release their juice.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

    3. Then the resulting mass should be strained through a sieve to remove skins and seeds. If desired, you can use a clean cheesecloth.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

    4. Sugar should be added to the strained juice. The amount of sugar should equal the amount of berries to achieve the desired jelly consistency.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

    5. Leave the syrup in this form for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sugar should completely dissolve in the currant juice.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

    6. The dissolved sugar will change the juice's consistency, and the syrup will begin to thicken. Stir it thoroughly once again and pour into previously prepared (washed, sterilized, and dry) jars. Seal tightly with lids, and the no-cook blackcurrant jelly is ready. It is best stored in the refrigerator.
