Gooseberry and orange jelly

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Of course, gooseberry is a berry that not everyone likes, and I myself didn't use it much for a long time because I wasn't particularly fond of gooseberry preserves. However, a friend introduced me to this recipe for gooseberry and orange jelly when I visited her; she offered me a taste, and I was pleasantly surprised by its flavor. This year, I made a couple of jars of gooseberry and orange jelly at home, and my whole family enjoyed it. I will definitely continue making this treat in the future. The finished dessert can be served at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, remove the stems from the gooseberries and rinse them under running water. Drain the berries in a colander to let them dry. Wash the oranges, dry them thoroughly, and cut into small segments.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Pass the oranges and gooseberries twice through a meat grinder to obtain a uniform mixture. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan, add sugar, and cook over low heat for 20–25 minutes from the moment it begins to boil, stirring occasionally.

After that, pour the mixture into sterilized jars and seal them; you can, in principle, use plastic caps to close the jars. In total, I ended up with 7 half-liter jars.

You can eat part of the jelly right away, although in this case it will have a consistency more similar to jam, since the mixture only sets after cooling. Enjoy your meal!
