Strawberry Jelly for Winter

Description

Any long winter evening can be brightened with strawberry jelly. This dessert is fragrant and sweet, with the characteristic tang of strawberries—it will delight everyone! You can serve strawberry jelly with cream, cottage cheese, or ice cream, spread it on a bun, or enjoy it with your favorite pancakes. The jelly’s consistency keeps it from running, which is a clear advantage over jam. And making strawberry jelly for winter is very easy! 1. Sort through the berries, remove the stems, and rinse them thoroughly. 2. Put the berries in a large pot and sprinkle with half the sugar (750 g). Let them stand for a while so they release their juice. 3. Once the strawberries have released their juice, add the remaining sugar. Place the pot on the stove and bring to a boil. After the berries come to a boil, cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Skim off any foam. 4. Prepare a citric acid solution. From water and a spoonful of sugar, cook a small amount of syrup and dissolve the citric acid in it. Add the resulting mixture to the jelly, stir, and cook for another five minutes. Stir the jelly constantly with a wooden spoon. 5. Prepare sterilized jars. Pour the hot jelly into the jars and seal with sterile lids. 6. Turn the finished jelly upside down until it cools, right in the kitchen. Store the cooled strawberry jelly in a dark, cool place. The jars keep for up to a year in a cool spot.
