Shattered Glass Jelly

Description

You can make berry or fruit jelly using fresh or frozen berries, or simply buy a store-bought jelly mix with various flavors. To make the dessert more visually appealing when sliced, use jelly of different colors and flavors. The sour cream should be fresh and not too sour. Use the amount of gelatin according to your preference, following the instructions on the package. Take the sour cream out of the refrigerator in advance so it reaches room temperature, as gelatin will set immediately in a cold environment.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

Place each type of dry jelly into a separate cup, pour in hot water while stirring, and mix until the crystals dissolve completely. Let the liquids cool completely, then place them in the refrigerator until the jelly sets fully. This took me 4 hours. I used half a package of jelly and the corresponding amount of water according to the instructions. You may need more or less, depending on your jelly.

    Step 3

Cut the set jelly into pieces and keep it in the refrigerator for now.

  4. 4

    Step 4

For the sour cream base, pour cold boiled water over the gelatin and let it swell according to the instructions, usually about 30-40 minutes. Melt the swollen gelatin over a water bath.

You can prepare the dessert in one bowl, lining it with plastic wrap. I made small desserts using a silicone mold. Pour a little sour cream onto the bottom and add a layer of colorful jelly.

Pour the pieces of jelly with the sour cream mixture.

    Step 10

The top layer should be sour cream. You can also place the jelly into the sour cream base, mix it, and fill the molds. Put the mold with the future dessert into the refrigerator until set; it took me 5 hours.
