Fried rice with seafood
Description
If you love rice and seafood, you'll definitely want to try this recipe. The rice turns out fluffy and aromatic, and you can use any seafood mix. A typical seafood mix includes mussels, shrimp, squid, octopus and cuttlefish tentacles, but you can choose whichever seafood you prefer. It's best to use long-grain rice, such as jasmine or basmati. You can also cook it with regular short-grain rice, but the dish won't be as fluffy. This is a simple and very appetizing option for a quick lunch or dinner—definitely keep this recipe in mind.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients from the list. When buying seafood mix, make sure it doesn't contain imitation shrimp and crab; natural seafood tastes better. We'll only need the juice of the lemon, so you can use ready-made lemon juice.
- 2
Step 2

Thaw the seafood cocktail and drain all the released liquid.
- 3
Step 3

Pour lemon juice over the seafood. Then add soy sauce. Season the seafood with salt. After they have stood for a while, drain the liquid that has been released, and lightly squeeze the seafood.
- 4
Step 4

Rinse the rice and cook in salted water until almost done, depending on the rice variety, cooking time may vary (refer to the package instructions). Rinse the cooked rice under cold water and drain in a colander.
- 5
Step 5

Place sliced garlic onto a heated frying pan with oil.
- 6
Step 6

Sear until golden brown and set aside, we won't need it anymore.
- 7
Step 7

Place the diced onion and carrot into the fragrant oil. I had a small carrot, so I sliced it into rounds.
- 8
Step 8

Sauté the vegetables until tender.
- 9
Step 9

Add the pepper sliced into half-rings. Also add salt and your favorite spices to taste.
- 10
Step 10

Sauté everything together for a few more minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Add the seafood.
- 12
Step 12

Fry until cooked through (depending on your stove, the skillet used, and the amount of liquid in the seafood, cooking time may vary from 5 to 10 minutes). Even if your cocktail contains squid, which only needs 2 minutes to cook, do not reduce the cooking time—the squid will not become tough.
- 13
Step 13

Then add the cooked rice.
- 14
Step 14

Stirring constantly, sauté the rice for 2-3 minutes. Fried rice with seafood is ready.
- 15
Step 15

Serve the dish hot, sprinkled with chopped green onions.
