1. Wash the fish, dry it, remove the entrails, head, and tail if necessary. Cut into portion-sized pieces.

2. Salt and pepper to taste. If desired, you can use aromatic herbs and fish spices in the fried navaga recipe. Coat the fish on all sides with flour.
