Italian omelette
Description
A great option for a hearty and delicious breakfast! You can optionally add zucchini and mozzarella to the frittata. This will make it even more flavorful and juicy, while the cheese will give it a nice stretchy texture. Be sure to try making this dish at home—you won't regret it :) Optionally, you can bake the omelet in the oven.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

We start preparing the Italian omelet by peeling the vegetables (if necessary). Slice the onion into thin half-rings.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the bell pepper into large cubes.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the sausage into thin strips.
- 4
Step 4

The tomato will also need to be peeled. To do this, make cuts on its surface, then dip the vegetable into boiling water. Keep it there for a couple of minutes, then remove. The skin will come off very easily.
- 5
Step 5

Remove the core, and cut the peeled tomato flesh into pieces.
- 6
Step 6

Mix the eggs with the grated cheese, spices, and salt. Beat everything with a whisk until smooth.
- 7
Step 7

On a hot skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft, then add sausage and bell pepper, simmer for a couple of minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Pour the egg mixture and cook over low heat. Once the omelet begins to set, place tomato pieces evenly over the surface. Cover with a lid and continue cooking over low heat for 3-5 minutes.

Step 9

Garnish the frittata with chopped basil before serving. The frittata is ready.
