
Italian gnocchi
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Italian gnocchi can be made for a light dinner or breakfast. They can also be served as a side dish. The finished dish can be served at the table.

1. In a large bowl, mix flour, cream cheese, egg, and salt. The dough should be soft and not stick to your hands. If it sticks, add more flour.

2. Divide the dough into a few parts and roll into little tubes.

3. Cut the tubes into equal pieces, the length of a matchbox.

4. To give the gnocchi texture, press each one with a fork.

5. Place the gnocchi on parchment paper and put them in the freezer to firm up slightly.

6. After about 15 minutes, bring the water in the pot to a boil, add salt, and drop the gnocchi one by one into the boiling water. When the water comes back to a boil and the gnocchi float to the surface—they are ready. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place onto a plate.

7. Italian gnocchi are ready! Serve with your favorite sauce, sour cream, or grated cheese.
