And of course, Irish stew is very, very tasty. Traditionally, Irish stew is made with lamb, but it can also be made with beef. The traditional vegetables used are onions, potatoes, and carrots. The finished dish can be served at the table.

    1. Cut off a little fat from the lamb and place it in a skillet preheated over medium heat. Melt the fat over medium heat. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

    2. Coarsely chop the onion. Peel the potatoes and cut them into 4 parts. Peel the carrots and cut them into coarse pieces.

Transfer the lamb to a pot, then sauté the carrots and onions in the remaining fat for two minutes, stirring and turning the ingredients frequently.

Place the potatoes on top, but do not mix them with the other ingredients. Add a little more salt and pepper to season the potatoes. Cover the pot with a lid and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for 1 hour.

    5. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then whisk in the flour. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
