Description

The recipe won't take much time. Homemade caramels should be stored in the refrigerator, as they soften and stick together at room temperature. But right out of the fridge, they resemble "Kis-kis" candies—soft, chewy, and very sweet! A real treat for those with a sweet tooth. Serve chilled.

    Prepare the ingredients and the silicone mold.

    Add sugar and vanilla to the hot milk. Bring to a boil.

    Boil for 20-30 minutes, stirring constantly over medium heat, until the mixture thickens and turns golden in color.

    Add honey and butter, cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture becomes smooth.

    The caramels are ready for shaping.

    Using a tablespoon, pour the hot mixture into molds; I got 15 small candies and three large ones. If using smaller molds, you'll get 20-22 pieces. Let the caramels cool slightly at room temperature, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Finished caramels are easily removed from molds, but they need to be stored in the refrigerator.
