Indian pilaf
Description
Want to make a genuine Eastern dish? Then Indian pilaf would be perfect for this. This dish can be eaten by vegetarians, as it contains no animal-derived ingredients. If you like meat, though, you can add chicken to the pilaf, for example.

Step 1

Place a frying pan on the stove and pour in vegetable oil. Heat the oil, then add all the spices to the pan. Fry them over medium heat for five minutes.

Step 2

Peel the onion and carrot. Wash the vegetables, chop the onion into cubes, and grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Add the onion, carrot, and green peas to the frying pan, and simmer for five minutes.

Step 3

Separate the garlic head into cloves and peel each clove. Then pour boiling water over the tomato, remove its skin, and slice the vegetable into thin wedges. Add the tomato and garlic cloves to the frying pan.

Step 5

Pour water over the ingredients so that it covers them by two fingers' width. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to minimum, and simmer until the liquid has evaporated. Add raisins at the end. Serve the dish.
