Turkey baked with sour cream
Description
Serve the turkey baked with sour cream hot, garnished with fresh herbs. Using potatoes in the recipe helps save time on preparing the side dish.
Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the turkey drumsticks under cold water, then use a sharp knife to make small, but preferably deep, punctures in them.
- 2
Step 2

Place the drumsticks in a heatproof dish in which you plan to cook the dish. Evenly spread the sour cream and mustard over the meat. You can mix them together either in a separate container or directly while applying them to the turkey.

Step 3

Now, sprinkle the turkey legs, wiped with mustard-sour cream sauce, with your favorite spices or simply ground black pepper to taste, then spray with soy sauce (which already has a slightly salty flavor, so there's no need to add extra salt to this dish). After that, cover the turkey with a plastic bag or food wrap and place it in the refrigerator to marinate for at least half an hour, or up to 24 hours. During this time, turn the meat several times to ensure it absorbs the sauce flavors evenly and becomes more tender.

Step 4

When the meat has marinated, you can turn on the oven to preheat and prepare the potatoes: peel, wash, and cut them into large slices. Take the turkey out of the refrigerator, turn it over so the sour cream-mustard marinade spreads evenly again, arrange the sliced potatoes around the drumsticks, and place it in the preheated oven.

Step 5

The turkey is baked with sour cream and potatoes at a temperature of 180–200 degrees. During cooking, the meat and potatoes should be carefully turned several times to ensure even cooking. The cooking time depends on the size of the turkey drumsticks and potato pieces, as well as the characteristics of your oven; I cooked it for about 2 hours. The dish is ready when there is no blood in the meat juice that comes out when piercing the drumsticks, and when the potatoes are fully cooked.
