Turkey stewed in tomato sauce
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. I think you can cook any part of the bird, even the offal, in this sauce. I make the sauce using fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic. Before cooking, I sear the turkey in a pan, then braise it in the sauce. The breasts can be served with any side dish or simply with bread. The finished dish is ready to be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
I wash the chicken breast and slice it into pieces, then sprinkle it with salt and pepper on both sides.
- 2
Step 2
Heat a skillet with olive oil. Add the turkey pieces and sear them on both sides until a light crust forms (about 5 minutes per side). Transfer the meat to a plate.
- 3
Step 3
I put the baked tomatoes into the blender and blend until smooth.
- 4
Step 4
Return the skillet to the heat, add the chopped garlic, half of the basil, and sauté for 1 minute.
- 5
Step 5
Pour the chopped tomatoes into the pan, add the cream, and bring the sauce to a boil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 6
Step 6
I add the turkey pieces to the pan and simmer for 10-15 minutes. I sprinkle the dish with the remaining basil and serve it with a side dish or on its own.
