Turkey with rice
Description
Turkey with rice and vegetables in a skillet is a perfect option for a family dinner. Tender lean meat combined with fragrant rice and vegetables makes this dish incredibly delicious. It's important to note that spices play a huge role—don't skimp on them, and always use high-quality herbs. Only then will you achieve a truly rich flavor. Besides carrots, onion, and tomatoes, you can also add leek, garlic, celery, and bell pepper. Feel free to experiment, while I share the classic version.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I always buy natural spices in bulk at the market for making this dish, as those sold in packets don't have the same aroma and don't deliver the desired flavor.
- 2
Step 2

Slice the onion into half-rings.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the carrots and cut them into thick julienne strips.
- 4
Step 4

Cut the tomatoes into 6 pieces. Do not use too many tomatoes, as they should only add a slight tanginess to the dish.
- 5
Step 5

Sear the meat until golden brown. Add carrots, onion, salt, and pepper, and sauté for another 2-3 minutes. Then pour water into the pan, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes at the end.
- 6
Step 6

Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then add it to the pan. Add spices, and if needed, a little more salt. Cook until the rice is soft and the liquid has evaporated.

Step 7

Turkey with rice is ready.
