Ginger Cosmo

1. For decoration, mix three-quarters of a cup of sugar with water and heat over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the syrup to a boil, slice the orange, add the slices to the syrup, and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.

2. Place the candied slices onto parchment paper, let dry for 10 minutes, roll in sugar, and arrange on a tray until completely dry.

3. Peel and grate fresh ginger root on a fine grater (it is now available in almost every supermarket).

4. Prepare triangular martini glasses. If you want to emphasize the ginger flavor, sprinkle grated ginger directly onto the bottom of the glass. If you prefer a milder taste, add it to the shaker.
