Ginger-mint tea
Description
This summer, we tried making ginger-mint tea for the first time, following a recommendation from a good friend. We made it—and didn't regret it at all. The result was a very tasty, refreshing drink, perfect for quenching thirst during hot summer days. Now, in late autumn, we serve the same tea hot—and again it's a success, wonderfully warming and invigorating. In short, it's a universal drink that everyone should learn to make :) Good luck! Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

So, just 3 ingredients and water—everything we need to make tea.
- 2
Step 2

In a small saucepan, add sugar and water, bring to a boil.
- 3
Step 3

Meanwhile, slice the ginger root into thin slices.
- 4
Step 4

When the sugar syrup comes to a boil, add the ginger and boil for another 4 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Chop the mint coarsely or tear it by hand.
- 6
Step 6

Add chopped mint to the boiling syrup. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove the pot from the heat, cover with a lid and a towel, and let it steep for 1 hour.
- 7
Step 7

After an hour, strain the syrup through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
- 8
Step 8

Pour the strained syrup into a small jar. The syrup is now ready; simply dilute it with boiling water (1 part syrup to 4 parts water) for hot tea, or with cold water (in the same proportions) for cold tea.

Step 9

This is what cold ginger-mint tea looks like.
