Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. You can use ready-made canned chickpeas for cooking, which will save a lot of time. Iil amlahlu is more of a weekend dish. The slow-cooking process takes a long time, but the meat turns out tender and soft, while the fruits give it a very interesting flavor. The finished dish can be served at the table.

Soak the chickpeas beforehand overnight. Rinse, cover with water and boil for 1.5 hours. Drain in a colander.

Soak the prunes in orange juice and let stand for 1 hour.

In a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté finely chopped onion and garlic. Add cumin and cinnamon. Cook for 15 minutes.

Cut the lamb into medium pieces. Place in a frying pan. Add prunes with their juice, salt to taste. Pour in a little boiling water and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
