Homemade Caviar Butter
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Choose good-quality butter, or better still, make it yourself at home from cream. Cod roe is available at supermarkets in cans. You can buy several jars and make caviar butter as you use it up—and that will happen quickly, because it's very delicious. It can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the specified ingredients.

Step 2

Transfer the butter to a deep container: a small bowl or a mixing bowl. Place it in the microwave for 1 minute, covered with a special lid. Melt the butter on full power, but do not bring it to a boil. Remove and let cool to room temperature.

Step 3

Add the cod roe to the cooled butter. This ingredient can be bought canned at any supermarket or store. You can also use capelin roe or roe from other fish, sealed in cans. Do not use fresh roe — it must be heat-treated or cured in an acidic liquid for three days!

Step 4

Place the butter with caviar into special ramekins, sauce boats, or bowls. Transfer to the refrigerator or freezer for 20–30 minutes to set. After the specified time, the caviar butter will be fully ready!

Step 5

You can try it — spread a slice of fresh bread with the delicacy and taste it. This butter is especially delicious with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes!
