If you want to treat your family to something tasty with tea, make khvorost, and if you happen to have a can of beer in the fridge, there’s an excellent beer‑based khvorost recipe. It turns out a very tasty, crunchy khvorost; the recipe is simple, and I’m sharing a step‑by‑step guide. It can be served with tea or coffee.

Prepare the ingredients.

Pour the beer into the mixing bowl, add salt and sugar.

Add the sifted flour.

Knead the dough.

Roll out the dough into a thin sheet, cut it into strips, and make a slit in the center of each strip.

Insert one end of the dough strip through the slit; you’ll have a piece ready for khvorost.

Pour enough vegetable oil into the pan and heat it well; only after that fry the khvorost in small batches on both sides.
