Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients listed. Use quality margarine, not spread.
- 2
Step 2

Crack a chicken egg into a deep bowl. Add granulated sugar and salt, pour in milk of any fat content, add vanilla sugar, and whisk.
- 3
Step 3

Melt the margarine in the microwave or in a double boiler and pour into a container. Mix everything quickly.
- 4
Step 4

Add the wheat flour and fold it into the mixture. You should get a stretchy dough that shows marks left by the whisk.
- 5
Step 5

Preheat the waffle iron and grease the plates the first time with vegetable oil or butter. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of prepared batter into the center.
- 6
Step 6

Bake for 2–3 minutes until golden brown, then transfer the waffles to a plate. For crispy waffles, place them on a cooling rack—they will crisp up as they cool.
- 7
Step 7

When serving, break the waffles into separate segments and serve with sour cream, sweet sauce, jam or jelly at the table.
- 8
Step 8

Garnish with berries and fresh mint.
