Horseradish vodka
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If your guests don't drink regular vodka, surprise them with this original drink called "khrenovukha." The drink is strong, yet very smooth and easy to drink, and doesn't cause severe hangovers the next morning (provided you use good quality vodka). It's usually a big hit :) As soon as you place the bottle on the table, everyone starts drinking—even, as they say in the cult Soviet movie, ulcer patients and teetotalers :) The drink is ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Peel horseradish and cut into fairly thick julienne strips.
- 2
Step 2

We do the same with ginger, only we cut it into smaller pieces.
- 3
Step 3

Put horseradish, ginger, a little cloves, and peppercorns into a jar. You can omit the cloves and pepper—they're not essential in horseradish mix—but I prefer it this way.
- 4
Step 4

Pour vodka into the jars. Do not use all of it—leave about 300 grams, as we will need it later.
- 5
Step 5

Close the jar and place it in a dry, cool, dark place. For example, in a pantry or cupboard.
- 6
Step 6

After 5 days, take the jar out of the pantry. If left to infuse longer, the drink might become too strong :)
- 7
Step 7

Strain the resulting horseradish tincture to remove all the ingredients we added. Pour it into a clean jar. Take a glass of the tincture, mix our honey into it, then pour it back into the jar. Add the remaining 300 ml of vodka, close it again and let it sit for another day. After that, pour it into bottles and enjoy :)
