Hot Dog in Onion Rings
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The name of this appetizer is explained by the fact that one of the main ingredients is sausages—they're also the main components of hot dogs. But otherwise the appetizer is completely different, in my opinion—much tastier than regular hot dogs. Recipe. It can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the sausages into pieces about 1 cm wide. Place them in a skillet with a small amount of vegetable oil and fry until lightly golden brown.
- 3
Step 3

Then add butter and flour to the pan and stir vigorously until the butter has completely melted.
- 4
Step 4

Then pour in the milk and cook the mixture, stirring constantly, for several minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Add the coarsely grated cheese to the skillet and mix until the mixture is as uniform as possible.
- 6
Step 6

Thanks to the cheese, which will melt quickly, the mixture will be stretchy.
- 7
Step 7

Peel the onion and slice it into rounds about 7–10 mm thick. Separate the rounds into rings. You will only need the largest rings; place them on parchment paper or a large wooden board.
- 8
Step 8

Using a spoon, spoon the delicious filling into each ring. Leave the filled rings at room temperature for 30 minutes, or refrigerate them for 10 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Heat vegetable oil in a small skillet or saucepan. Prepare everything for breading – beat an egg with a small amount of pepper and salt, and put a little flour and breadcrumbs in small plates. Dip each stuffed onion ring first in flour, then in egg, and then in breadcrumbs.
- 10
Step 10

Place the onion rings in hot vegetable oil and fry until golden brown.
- 11
Step 11

Place the finished hot dogs in onion rings on paper towels.
- 12
Step 12

And that's it — your tasty appetizer is ready. Enjoy!
