
Heart Aspic
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. Heart aspic turns out tasty and rich. To set the dish, use gelatin. The heart takes a long time to cook, so plan your time accordingly. It can be served warm or chilled.

Prepare all ingredients.

Rinse the heart and place it in a pot with water.

Boil the heart for 1–1.5 hours until tender, and salt to taste.

Add the carrots and the unwashed onions in their skins to the pot, and cook everything together for another 20–30 minutes. Also add a bay leaf and peppercorns for aroma.

Strain the broth, and cut the heart into medium-sized pieces. Place the heart in an aspic mold.

Add the sliced carrots there as well.

Pour cold water over the gelatin (a small amount, approximately 100 grams) so that it swells.

Mix the broth with gelatin, stir, and pour over the meat.

Put the aspic in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to set. After that time, serve at the table.
