Beef Hock Aspic
Description
It works for holidays and everyday meals alike. You can use this beef shank aspic recipe not only in a multicooker but also on the stovetop. However, kitchen appliances make the process easier. 1. First, prepare the meat: wash it, clean it, and place it in the pot. 2. Rinse the onion under running water and add it to the meat, unpeeled. 3. Peel the carrot and cut it in half. 4. Add the spices. In this simple beef shank aspic recipe, you can use not only bay leaf and allspice, but also other spices you like. 5. Once all the ingredients are in the pot, add water up to the maximum mark. 6. Some multicooker models (Polaris, for example) have a special program for making aspic. If yours does not, set the Stew mode for 7–8 hours (depending on power). 7. After the program finishes, carefully remove the meat and pick it apart. 8. Let the carrot cool slightly, then slice it into thin rounds. You can cut them into decorative shapes if you like. 9. Strain the broth several times to remove spice residue and fat. 10. Place the meat in a mold prepared for setting, pour the broth over it, and distribute the carrot pieces. 11. For presentation, garnish the homemade beef shank aspic with parsley leaves or other herbs. 12. The final step is setting. Carefully place the mold in the refrigerator and leave it overnight. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.
