Bread hedgehog with sausages and cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. For the bread hedgehog, I bought whole-grain bread, but that's not required—use whatever bread you like. The same goes for the sauce: you can use any spicy or mild tomato sauce, homemade adjika, and so on. Well then, look—serve the appetizer at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients: fresh bread, sausages, cheese, and onion. Remove the sausages from their wrappers and peel the onion.
- 2
Step 2

Using an apple corer, make diagonal holes, as shown in the photo.
- 3
Step 3

Insert the halved sausages.
- 4
Step 4

Cut the bread into segments, making the cuts deep enough.
- 5
Step 5

Transfer the "hedgehog" to a baking sheet. Fill the cuts with adjika (tomato sauce); don't skimp on the sauce — fill them generously.
- 6
Step 6

Spread grated cheese on top and bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes at 200°C.
- 7
Step 7

Remove the "hedgehog" from the oven. Adjust the browning to your taste.
- 8
Step 8

Drizzle the "hedgehog" with your favorite sauce or mustard, sprinkle with chopped onion, break off pieces, and enjoy!
