Description

The recipe won't take much time. No oil is used when preparing the cracker dough, except for the fats contained in the added cheese. Using both yeast and baking powder in the recipe makes the cracker texture lighter and airier. Rye flour is included to enrich the baked goods with the benefits of whole-grain flour. However, if rye flour is unavailable, it can be replaced with wheat flour without affecting the quality of the final product. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

    Prepare all the necessary ingredients: sift the flour beforehand, grate the cheese (such as Dutch, Russian, Gouda, etc.) on a fine grater.

    Combine all dry ingredients in a deep bowl until smooth. You can do this with a whisk or a spoon.

    Add the grated cheese to the dry mixture and mix the ingredients with a spoon.

    Make a depression in the resulting mixture, pour in warm water (temperature — 30-35 degrees), and knead the dough. The dough will turn out quite dense.

    Knead the dough with your hands, roll it out into a 5-6 mm thick sheet, then cut it into small rectangular pieces and prick them with a fork in several places.
