Chili Pepper Bread
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I cook this bread quite often, as my family enjoys its soft crumb and the spiciness of the hot pepper. To enhance the pepper's flavor, lightly sauté it in olive oil before adding it to the dough. For a bright, "cheerful" color, I add 1 teaspoon of dried paprika to the dough. The detailed recipe is below. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients. Sift the flour, wash the pepper.
- 2
Step 2

Remove the stems from the peppers, cut them lengthwise, remove the seeds, and chop into small pieces.
- 3
Step 3

Dissolve the yeast in 100 ml of water with sugar, and let it sit in a warm place for 15 minutes until a foamy layer forms. Sauté the peppers in heated olive oil (2 tbsp) until soft, add paprika, mix, then cool.
- 4
Step 4

Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Pour in the risen yeast, add pepper, and mix. Add the remaining olive oil, salt, and knead the dough.
- 5
Step 5

Knead the dough for 7 minutes. At first, it will stick to your hands, but do not add more flour. Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil, cover with plastic wrap, and leave in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours. I use a multicooker, the "Multicook" mode, temperature 35°C.
- 6
Step 6

Sprinkle the work surface with flour, knead the dough, roll it out into a 1.5 cm thick sheet, and roll it up tightly into a log. Seal the edge carefully and roll it slightly.
- 7
Step 7

Using a sharp knife, make cuts, cover with a cotton towel, and let rise for 20 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes. Adjust according to your oven.
- 9
Step 9

Cover with a cotton towel and cool on a rack.
