Bread with jam
Description
Sweet bread with jam is a bun with jam, but in ancient times it was a festive pastry. Usually it was baked for weddings or other significant events. I'm sharing the recipe; it can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Let's start with the dough. Sift the flour, add dry yeast, sugar, a pinch of salt, melted butter and an egg.
- 2
Step 2

Add the milk and knead the dough. It should be soft and pliable. Cover with a towel and place in a warm spot for 1 hour.
- 3
Step 3

When the dough rises, divide it into two parts. Roll out the first one into a layer about 1 cm thick.
- 4
Step 4

Place the jam on top and spread it in an even layer.
- 5
Step 5

Roll out the second portion of the dough into a circle about 1 cm thick and cover the filling.
- 6
Step 6

Pinch the edges so that there’s no space left; otherwise, during baking the jam will start to leak out and the bread won’t turn out.
- 7
Step 7

Decorate the bread as you wish, I always set aside a piece of dough and make a decoration from it. Place the bread in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35‑40 minutes. The bread is ready!
