Kefir bread in the oven
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. Baking bread at home is beyond praise. The ingredients for bread seem so simple, yet the final result is absolutely wonderful—be sure to try it! We enjoy drinking fresh kefir, but sometimes kefir sits too long in the fridge. What to do with it? Kefir makes excellent baked goods: whether it's savory dumplings with dill, sweet crackers for tea, pancakes, or quick pancakes ready in minutes. Even if it's expired, it won't affect the baking—your treats will turn out aromatic and delicious. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

The volume of my glasses is 200 ml. Prepare the ingredients; the kefir should be at room temperature.
- 2
Step 2

Sift the flour, add salt, sugar, and baking soda. Mix well.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in the warm kefir and vegetable oil.
- 4
Step 4

With a spoon, mix the kefir with the flour; once all the flour is moistened, transfer to the work surface and knead the dough until you get a smooth, elastic ball.
- 5
Step 5

Preheat the oven to 180-190 degrees. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and place the dough ball on it.
- 6
Step 6

Make cuts. Put the bread in the oven for 30 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

The bread is ready! Transfer it to a rack and let it cool.
- 8
Step 8

The bread is so delicious that I bake 2-3 loaves at once. Each loaf weighs between 500 and 550 grams.
