Fish Hoe with Carrots
Description
Suitable for both holidays and everyday meals. This twist on a traditional Korean recipe may look like sacrilege to purists. Still, a good dish is worth it even with a little experimentation. Serve the appetizer at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Preferably use frozen fish; this will serve as its preliminary heat treatment. Thaw the fish and cut the fillets into matchstick strips (not too thin, so the pieces don't fall apart).
- 2
Step 2

Peel the onion and slice it into thin half-moons. Mince or press the garlic. Peel the carrot and either cut it into thin matchsticks or grate it on a special grater for Korean-style carrot.

Step 3

Mix the fish, onion, garlic, and carrots. Add all the spices and mix again.

Step 4

Heat the oil in a pan, pour it over the fish-and-vegetable mixture, and mix quickly. Let marinate for 1–2 hours. The dish is ready! You can treat your family and guests.
