Hanum with potatoes
Description
Delicious and aromatic hanum can be served both for a family dinner and prepared for any festive table. If you don't add egg to the dough, this dish can perfectly diversify fasting days. Hanum is very popular in our family, and I hope you'll enjoy it too. Sauces will give it a special flavor—sour cream, garlic, or tomato sauce with herbs are all great options.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

In a deep bowl, combine the egg, water, a pinch of salt, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Beat slightly until well mixed.
- 3
Step 3

Add the flour in parts.
- 4
Step 4

Knead a pliable dough, shape it into a ball, cover with a towel, and let it rest.
- 5
Step 5

Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Cut the potatoes into small matchstick strips, add diced onion, one tablespoon of vegetable oil, salt to taste, and spices. Mix well. The filling is ready.
- 6
Step 6

On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle. The thinner the dough, the tastier the hanum will be; the ideal thickness is 1–2 mm. Place the filling on top.
- 7
Step 7

Roll the dough with the filling into a log and seal the edges.
- 8
Step 8

Place the roll into a steamer, greasing the surface with vegetable oil. I also brush the top of the roll with oil using a silicone brush. Steam the roll for 40-60 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Carefully transfer the ready hanum to a serving plate and brush the surface with butter. Cut into pieces and serve with your favorite sauce.
