Hanum with minced meat and potatoes
Description
The recipe won't take much time. As I've already mentioned, the filling can be absolutely anything: cabbage, potatoes, meat, pumpkin, or even carrots. And even though hanum and manty are two different dishes, they are both cooked the same way—steamed in a steamer. Hanum is considerably easier to prepare, which is why it's also popularly known as "lazy manty." So don't be intimidated by the cooking process—be sure to try this delicious, juicy, and aromatic dish. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

In a deep bowl, combine the egg, water, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, and 0.5 tsp salt. Mix everything with a fork.
- 3
Step 3

Add the flour in parts.
- 4
Step 4

First, mix the dough with a spoon.
- 5
Step 5

Then, when it becomes difficult to mix, continue kneading by hand, gradually adding the remaining flour. The dough should be firm and elastic. Shape it into a ball, cover it, and set it aside while you prepare the filling.
- 6
Step 6

Cut the potatoes and onions into small cubes. Combine the minced meat, onions, and potatoes. Add salt and spices to taste, and mix well. The filling is ready.
- 7
Step 7

Grease the work surface and rolling pin with oil. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 2 mm thick. Brush the dough with oil and evenly spread the filling, leaving a small border around the edges. Then, fold the edges from two opposite sides towards the center, as shown in the photo.
- 8
Step 8

Then carefully start rolling the roll.
- 9
Step 9

The roll is ready.
- 10
Step 10

Grease the steamer tray with oil and place the roll seam-side down in a spiral shape. I pinch the seam beforehand so that all the juice released during cooking doesn't leak out.
- 11
Step 11

Steam the roll for about 50 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

Hanum with minced meat and potatoes is ready.
- 13
Step 13

Brush the hanum with butter if desired and serve with any sauces of your choice, accompanied by fresh vegetables and herbs.
