Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. The piece of pork should not be lean; it should have small streaks of fat. Grind the meat through the large blade of a meat grinder. Peel the vegetables. Let's get started!

Step 2

First, you need to make the dough. To do this, pour two cups of flour into a bowl, add the egg, salt, and water. Start kneading the dough, gradually adding 1-2 tablespoons of oil to make the dough more pliable.
- 3
Step 3

Knead a stiff dough, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

You will need a lot of onion and carrots; I have very large root vegetables, so one of each was enough. Cut the vegetables into not-too-large pieces, and sauté them until cooked in two tablespoons of oil with a pinch of salt.
- 5
Step 5

Roll out the dough as thin as possible (like for dumplings or vareniki).
- 6
Step 6

Spread the filling on top. Season it with salt.
- 7
Step 7

Drain the vegetables from the fat, distribute them into the minced meat. Season with pepper to taste.
- 8
Step 8

Roll the hanum into a roll. Seal the edges. Grease the steamer basket with the oil used for frying vegetables and place the hanum inside. Add a couple of bay leaves and about 5-6 allspice berries to the water in the steamer. Steam for 45 minutes.

Step 9

Hanum is ready! Brush it with the fat from frying vegetables and garnish with seasonal herbs.
