Description
Halava, roughly speaking, is fried semolina with the addition of sweet syrup, nuts, and dried fruits. However, the result is an incredibly delicious warm dessert.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

We will grind the cardamom and cloves in a mortar.

Place a pot of water on the stove. Bring it to a boil and add ground cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, and sugar.

Reduce the heat and boil the syrup for another 5-7 minutes, then strain it through a sieve.

While the syrup is cooling, in the same saucepan, chop the dates and grate the zest of one orange.
