Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Grate the suluguni cheese (preferably not too salty) on a coarse grater. Place the grated cheese in a bowl and add a chicken egg. Thoroughly mix the ingredients with a spoon.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Take the frozen dough out of the freezer, let it thaw on the counter or defrost it in the microwave using the "Defrost" setting. Roll out the dough until it is two to three millimeters thick. Cut it into equal squares.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Place the cheese-egg filling in the center of each dough square. Make sure the filling does not touch the edges of the square, otherwise the dough may come apart during baking, causing the filling to leak out, fall onto the baking sheet, and burn.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Pinch the edges of the dough together as if you were folding an envelope. Seal them well so the filling doesn't leak out. Place the resulting semi-finished products onto a baking sheet. There's no need to grease the sheet, as puff pastry is already quite fatty and won't stick. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

In a separate bowl, beat a raw chicken egg with a fork until smooth. Using a silicone brush, coat the top of the khachapuri with the beaten egg and immediately place them in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve the khachapuri hot, while the filling is still soft.
