Guslyanka
Description
As you've probably already noticed, this simple recipe for guslyanka contains only two ingredients, but the drink itself is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. It is actually a traditional Carpathian dish, and I first tried it in a small Ukrainian village. I absolutely loved it because it was completely unlike any other dairy product I've ever had—its texture was very uneven and the taste quite unusual. Overall, though, the drink is extremely interesting, and it's simply indispensable in hot weather. And if you enjoy milk-based treats, I'll be happy to tell you how to serve it.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, we need to boil the milk, and then cool it down to 35-40 degrees.
- 2
Step 2

Now we mix warm milk with sour sour cream, so we coat the walls of the jug with it.

Step 3

Pour the still warm milk into a jug, but do not stir. Wrap the jug in a towel without covering it with a lid, and place it in a warm spot (for example, near the stove) for 12 hours. Then transfer it to the refrigerator for a couple of days. After that, the guslyanka can be enjoyed with cookies or pancakes. Enjoy your meal, everyone!
