Chicken breast goulash
Description
Goulash can be made not only from beef but also from chicken, turkey, or pork. To prepare goulash from chicken breast, you will need half of a large chicken breast, one medium carrot, and two small onions (or one medium onion). If desired, you can substitute tomato paste with fresh tomatoes. See the recipe below.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. Rinse the chicken breast and cut it into elongated pieces. Separate the fillet from the bone; the chicken breast bone will not be needed.
- 2
Step 2

Heat a skillet with a small amount of oil. Lightly sear the chicken for about 5 minutes on each side, then season with salt.
- 3
Step 3

While the chicken is frying, chop the carrot and onion. You can cut the onion into cubes or quarters. It's better to slice the carrot into thin strips or just grate it.
- 4
Step 4

Add the onion to the chicken. Sauté until it becomes soft.
- 5
Step 5

Then add the carrots, mix well, and sauté until the carrots are soft.
- 6
Step 6

Add the tomato paste, mix and simmer for a couple of minutes. You can add a tablespoon of water if desired.
- 7
Step 7

Next comes the flour; mix it well with the chicken.
- 8
Step 8

The final stage is simmering. Add water, or broth (chicken or vegetable), about one cup. The liquid should cover the chicken, but not completely.
- 9
Step 9

Add your favorite spices. Simmer with the lid closed for about 15 minutes.
- 10
Step 10

You can serve the ready chicken breast goulash with herbs and any side dish. It goes very well with potatoes or pasta.
