Beef goulash with tomatoes
Description
This beef goulash recipe with tomatoes is one of my family's absolute favorites—probably because the dish turns out so rich, hearty, and deliciously home-style. I, in turn, try to treat them to this meal as often as possible, especially since it's not at all difficult to prepare. Today, I'd like to share my recipe with you and show you how to make beef goulash with tomatoes. I hope you'll love this fragrant dish as much as we do.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, we cut a small piece of bacon into cubes and place it on a heated frying pan.
- 2
Step 2

Fry the fat until all the fat has rendered out of it.
- 3
Step 3

Next, cut the washed and dried meat into cubes with sides of 2.5-3 cm.
- 4
Step 4

Peel the onion and chop finely.
- 5
Step 5

Place the onion in a frying pan and fry it together with the bacon until golden brown.
- 6
Step 6

While the onions are frying, cut the tomatoes into small pieces.
- 7
Step 7

Transfer the fried onion to the pot in which we will cook the goulash.
- 8
Step 8

Place the meat, cut into cubes, on the onion.
- 9
Step 9

Add paprika to taste; I usually add quite a lot, as it gives the goulash a rich flavor and aroma, as well as a bright color.
- 10
Step 10

Now cover the pot with a lid and simmer the goulash over low heat for 25 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

After some time, add the tomatoes to the pot and continue simmering everything.
- 12
Step 12

Cut the potatoes into fairly large cubes and add them to the pot after the tomatoes.
- 13
Step 13

Mix everything, add salt, and simmer the goulash over low heat for another hour. During this time, stir the goulash regularly and gradually add a little water to prevent the meat and vegetables from burning. The thickness of the finished dish depends on how much water you add.
- 14
Step 14

When the meat and potatoes become tender, remove the pot from the heat and serve the goulash. Enjoy your meal!
