Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. From my recipe, you'll learn how to make it. It can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients. Let's get started!
- 2
Step 2

2. Place a piece of butter, salt, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- 3
Step 3

3. When the milk mixture comes to a boil, add the flour and quickly stir the mixture to prevent lumps from forming. Remove from heat.
- 4
Step 4

4. The dough should easily come away from the sides and form a ball. It should be soft and pliable, as shown in the photo.
- 5
Step 5

5. Let the dough cool slightly, at least to 40 degrees, so that the egg whites don't curdle. Add eggs one at a time to the warm dough, mixing thoroughly until smooth.
- 6
Step 6

6. Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater, add it to the dough, along with mustard. Mix well.
- 7
Step 7

7. The dough is ready! Prepare a pastry bag with a convenient tip. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 8
Step 8

8. Place the cheese balls onto a baking sheet or parchment paper, leaving space between them; the diameter of the balls should be 1.5-2 cm. If using regular parchment paper, grease it with oil; if it's silicone-coated, no greasing is needed.
- 9
Step 9

9. Bake the gougères at 200 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees and bake until golden brown.
- 10
Step 10

10. Finely chop the parsley and garlic, add a pinch of black pepper and melted butter. Mix well; the heat from the butter will instantly release a wonderful aroma from the garlic.

Step 11

11. Gougères are ready.
