
Pears in red currant purée
Description
Simmer red currants with sugar to make a purée, then cook pear slices in the purée, and pack everything into sterilized jars. A wonderful dessert and preserve is ready! Good luck with your cooking!

Step 1

Wash the red currants, add 50 ml of water to the berries in a saucepan, and heat for about 10 minutes until the berries soften. Then strain the berries through a sieve.

Pour the resulting puree into a saucepan. Add sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil.

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, add half a lemon with its juice squeezed out, a cinnamon stick, and 2-3 cloves. Let it boil for 10-15 minutes. Remove the lemon and spices. Add pear slices to the saucepan and simmer for 7-10 minutes.

Place pear slices into prepared sterilized jars.

Pour with hot red currant purée.

Cover the jars with boiled lids and sterilize for 15–20 minutes. Immediately seal the jars airtight, turn them upside down (for additional sterilization of the lids), and leave them in this position until completely cooled. Store in the refrigerator. Serve cold.
